Yorkshire Mole Control

I'm based in between Leeds and Harewood and will travel up to 20 miles to catch moles. Leeds, York, Harrogate and Skipton are the areas I work the most. I have been controlling moles for 10 years and in this time have built up a large list of loyal clients including parish councils, farmers, schools, golf courses, caravan parks and private gardens. I am a fully qualified BPCA member and hold qualifications including the RSPH Level 2 certificate in pest control & pest management. I am also a member of both the Guild of British Mole Catchers (level 3 accredited) and the British Traditional Mole Catcher Register. No mole job is too large or too small. Weekend mole catching visits are available at no extra cost.

Mole control prices

Prices for mole control depends of the size of the area to be cleared and the number of moles I expect to catch. As an example an area such as a garden with a few moles would only cost £80.00 to clear. For larger areas I usually like to undertake a short site visit to provide a quote for clearance. On farmland, golf courses, caravan parks etc.. I offer a price per mole option. The price per mole will depend of the size of the area, traveling distance and the estimated mole population, The final pricing option I offer is an hourly rate, this used when trapping on large areas of farmland, where the expected catch rate is over 30 moles.

Catch Rates & Time Scales

I often get asked how many moles will expect to catch and how long it will take to catch them. The catch rate will obviously depend on the number of moles that are present and the size of the area i'm trapping, On larger mole catching contracts I aim to set round 30 traps per hour. A typical farm trapping session lasts around one week and could produce a total catch of several hundred moles. Smaller jobs including domestic gardens containing only a few moles are usually complete in under 24 hours.

How do i Catch Moles?

Moles are caught using modern versions of traditional traps. I use several different types including Duffus half barrel mole traps "manufactured here in Yorkshire", Fenn scissor traps often described as a Yorkshire scissor trap, Dutch designed Talpex mole traps and US designed Trapline mole traps. Each trap has its advantages and disavantages and the trap selected for use on your land will depend on the type of soil and tunnel depth. Utilising several types of mole trap gives me an advantage over mole catchers who rely on a single trap design and is one of the reasons I have such a high catch rate.
